How to resize a video for Reels and TikTok
- 1
Drop your video
Landscape, portrait or square — any source works.
- 2
Pick the shape
9:16 for Reels, TikTok and Shorts, 1:1 or 4:5 for the feed, 16:9 for YouTube.
- 3
Choose the fill
Blurred copy of your video, a solid colour, or crop to fill the whole frame.
- 4
Export
You get a 1080-wide video that uploads without black bars or cropping surprises.
Popular ways to use it
Landscape to Reels
Post a horizontal clip as a Reel with a stylish blurred background instead of black bars.
Square feed posts
1:1 fills more of the feed on Instagram and Facebook than 16:9.
Brand colour frames
Put your video on your brand colour for a consistent, recognisable look.
Shorts from long videos
Combine with Trim to turn a YouTube segment into a vertical Short.
Tips for the best result
- Blur fill keeps the whole picture visible — best when people are near the edges.
- "Crop to fill" is best for talking heads centred in the frame.
- Add text near the top or bottom so it sits in the fill area, not over faces.
Resize for social — FAQ
What size is a Reel or TikTok?
1080 × 1920 pixels (9:16). That is exactly what the 9:16 preset exports.
Will my landscape video be cut off?
Not with "Blur fill" or "Color" — the whole video stays visible with a background filling the rest. "Crop" fills the frame and trims the sides.
What resolution does it export?
1080 × 1920 for 9:16, 1080 × 1080 for 1:1, 1080 × 1350 for 4:5 and 1920 × 1080 for 16:9.
Will my video look stretched?
Never — the picture always keeps its proportions. The extra space is filled with blur or colour, or the edges are cropped.
Can I add music and captions too?
Yes. Stack "Add music" and "Add text" and everything is applied in the same export.
